Recently I was shopping for a baby shower gift and noticed the cutest little girl bedding set with lady bugs. What a great modern twist on the traditional pink baby girl stuff. It was that bedding that inspired me to design this lady bug themed baby announcement template. I love the headline “Our Little Lady had Arrived” in place of “It’s a Girl” – of course you can put what ever you want when you personalize this invitation template in MS Word. The photo area is designed to hold a 4×6 photo in landscape orientation.
Make Your Own Lady Bug Baby Announcements
You can make and print the invitation shown above at home with the template file at the bottom of this post. It’s really easy!
1. Download & Open the template in MS Word
2. Type in your event details
3. Print at home on standard 8.5 x 11 paper
The template yields two 5×7 announcements. After you print simply cut along the trim lines to finish. For a professional look, use a strait edge paper cutter to cut out the invitations. This will make clean, perfectly strait edges to the finished invitation.
Adding Your Own Baby Photo
Adding a photo in MS Word is easy. On the top menu select ‘Insert > Picture > From File’. This opens a file browser window, select your photo file and click ‘Insert’. Size your photo by clicking and dragging the corners to scale. Below is a short tutorial on how to insert a photo in Microsoft Word.
Make it Fabulous Tips!
Tip #1: Print the invitation on white cover stock so that your photo colors are bright and vivid. I like to use Classic Crest Avalanche White 80# cover paper. Paper in the range of 60-80 pound will pint on almost all home printers without jamming. Heavy paper is what will make your invitation feel professional.
Tip #2: This announcement template is designed to fit an A7 envelope. Use matching Classic Crest Avalanche White envelopes or Stardream’s Rose Quartz for a shimmery pink envelope.

Oh, that is so precious. I’d really like to do one for a baby boy. Do you have a blue and green lady bug? Thanks so much!
I have been looking for a ladybug invite for my twins 1st birthday. I am trying to have a great birthday on a budget, so these invites work really well. Is there anyway to change the colors on this? I would love a green background with a red and black ladybug. Thanks for what you do and offering you talent.
