Invitation Template: Girl’s Tea Party

download invitation template
The Hostess with the Mostess blog is a great resource for party ideas, and their recent Real Party theme was an Alice in Wonderland tea party for a little girls birthday party. What a fabulous idea (I want a grown up version so I can have an excuse to break out my feather boa). The photo to the right was taken by Jessica Claire of a party thrown a few years ago, but with the new Alice in Wonderland movie coming out I can see this party idea being popular.

Tea parties are always fun, no matter how old you are. But rather than do a floral print tea pot, I was inspired to take a modern, clean design approach. This invitation template features a tea pot, cup and saucer silhouette. The invitation could take on a more gown-up look, if printed on white or cream paper – perfect for a bridal shower tea party invitation!

Make Your Own Tea Party Invitation

You can make and print the invitation shown above at home with the template file at the bottom of this post. It’s really easy and fun!

1. Download & Open the template in MS Word
2. Type in your event details
3. Print at home on standard 8.5 x 11 paper

The template yields two 5×7 invitations. After you print simply cut along the trim lines to finish. For a professional look, use a strait edge paper cutter to cut out the invitations. This will make clean, perfectly strait edges to the finished invitation.

Make it Wonder-ful Tips!

Tip #1: For a little girl’s party print the invitation on Paper Source’s ‘Blossom’ Cover Stock for a pretty pink background. For a bridal shower party try Paper Source’s ‘Soft White’ Cover Stock for a more sophisticated look. Cover stock in the range of 60-80 pound will pint on almost all home printers without jamming.

Tip #2: To keep with the ‘Mad’ hatter theme, use a rainbow variety of envelope colors. Mixing pink, purple, green and yellow envelopes. To play up the Alice theme write “Open Me’ on the back flap of the envelope. The invitation tmeplate is designed to fit an A7 envelope. Check out Paper Source’s Color Envelopes they come in packs of 10 so you can buy multiple colors with out breaking the bank.

This was the answer to my prayers. My friend found it, and really saved my butt after i put the wrong date on the invitations for my daughters mad hatter tea party pirthday. I had worked on them for hours. This was easy and beautiful. Thank you so much.
