Paper Perfection: Samantha + Jordan

diy ornate vintage wedding suite from Download & Print

Samantha is planning a Vintage Fun wedding on the Puget Sound and got in touch with us a few months back needing wedding invitations. Perfect! That's just what we do here at Download & Print. She had fallen in love with our Ornate Vintage Type suite, but her wedding color is navy. Not a problem. We did a quick switcheroo on the design color and emailed it off to Samantha for approval, who in turn sent it to family for input. The design was a hit, but it turns out her family was a little hurt that their names weren't included on the invitation. After a few more custom tweaks to the invitation for Samantha, including space for the hosting families names and her wedding website, the invitations were ready to be assembled and mailed. Samantha got to printing and trimming, finishing by inserting the suite in a blue pocket and sealing with gold wax. I'd definitely call her finished suite DIY paper perfection!

Samantha shares some of her wedding details below and how our invitation template fits in with her Vintage Fun theme. From all of us here at Download & Print, a big congratulations to Samantha and Jordan. We are so glad we could be a part of your happiest of days. I don't want to scare you, but the countdown to wed-day is now on!

How did you meet?
Our freshman year of college, we were set up on a blind date for Jordan's New Years' fraternity event. We hit it off, but didn't end up dating until one year later. We spent that entire year building up an incredible friendship. After we finally made things official and "started dating", we were inseparable! After 5 years of dating, Jordan proposed on the Seattle Great Wheel and shocked me with an engagement party that night! We will be getting married shortly before our 6 year dating-versary.

What is your wedding theme/colors and how did you select them?
We call it "Vintage Fun". Both my engagement ring and our venue were created in the year 1900- so we are playing off of that and decorating with lots of antiques. Since our venue is on the Puget Sound waterfront, we are using navy blue as our primary color. We are accenting it with gold and ivory. My engagement ring is antique rose gold, and my dress is antique ivory- so everything will be complimentary! The second part of our theme is FUN, because -well - our family and friends are incredibly outgoing! Getting the sorority and fraternity together again is bound to create a wild time.

What detail(s) are you most looking forward to incorporating into your wedding?
My mom has a huge collection of antique dishes and we have been collecting more over the past year, so we are doing mismatched china for every single place setting. We will also have lots of Victorian touches throughout our historic venue, including a vintage furniture lounge and five crystal chandeliers hanging from the wood beams. My mom and dad have been creating dozens of fun projects for the wedding including a custom corn hole board, standing A-frame chalkboards, and a hand-painted wedding globe. My soon to be sister-in-law hand sewed the corn hole bean bags and made custom pillows for our lounge. We love all of the personalized touches coming together from the hard work of both families!

What services did you use from Download & Print?
We downloaded the "Ornate Vintage Type Wedding Invitation" suite. We knew that in the color navy, it would be perfect for our invitations. I had a few custom requests for Download & Print, including adding a spot for both sets of parents names at the top of the invitation, and customizing our RSVP card so guests could respond via our wedding website directly. Download & Print was incredibly accommodating and quick with every request! We plan on using Download & Print for menus and programs, as well! Everything was so easy and affordable with Download & Print!
